Spring Makeup Must-Haves Drugstore Edition

So I thought it would be time to get out the ultimate list of springtime makeup must-haves. You can achieve an elegant makeup look with affordable products. If you are new to makeup these products are beginner-friendly and practice makes perfect. I would advise that you do your research to find the right products that work for your skin type. Also checkout best selling products and watch tutorials on YouTube. They will give you more information about the products, formulas, wearability, longevity, shade ranges, etc.

Primer: e.l.f Putty Primer 

This line includes a variety of putty primers. They offer both matte and luminous formulas. Pick the one that works best for you. I use the matte version because I have oily skin.

Foundation: Maybelline Fit Me 

If you need something with more coverage, I would recommend the Maybelline Fit Me foundations. If you have oily skin I would recommend the Fit Me Poreless, for those with normal with dry skin you should pick up the Fit Me Dewy and Smooth. This is my favorite drugstore foundation. It’s my go-to foundation. It has a natural skin finish and comes in 40 different shades. 

Concealer: e.l.f 16Hour Camo Concealer

This concealer is affordable and comes in 18 shades. It is full coverage and long-wearing. It glides on and stays put all day. You can use it as a concealer or contour. It comes in a hydrating and matte formula. Choose wisely. 

L.A. Girl HD Pro Concealer

This is a great concealer and one of the most inexpensive concealers you can find. They also offer color correctors. This concealer is light-weight, crease-resistant, creamy and the applicator helps you place the product perfectly. Natural, buildable coverage, covers dark circles, and minimizes fine lines.

Setting Powder: Maybelline Fit Me Loose Setting Powder

Whether you prefer a loose powder or a pressed powder, Maybelline offers both. The loose powder is an all in one, you can set your face, bake, contour, and anything else you need. The pressed powder comes in more shades, you can match it to your foundation exactly. But it’s about preference. 

Brows: CoverGirl Micro-Fine + Define Pencil 

For brows that will last all day, the micro-fine tip means no sharpening. Also has a built-in spoolie, this brow pencil gives you a soft natural-looking brow. It’s available in multiple shades.

Brow Gel: CoverGirl Brow Gel

This gel is perfect for grooming your brows, they stay put all day. This gel doesn’t get flaky or crunchy. 

Eyeshadow Palette: Makeup Revolution & BH Cosmetics 

There are a number of drugstore brands that offer a crazy about of affordable eyeshadow palettes. My favorites are Makeup Revolution and BH Cosmetics. Check them out and I promise you will find something that you like. These palettes are amazing quality, great pigmentation and the size of the palettes varies. 

Bronzer: Milani Silky Matte Bronzing Powder 

This is a super-smooth matte bronzer, the is buildable and leaves you with a seamless sun-kissed look. 

Blush: Milani Baked Powder Blush

This blush is gorgeous and has great color payoff. These baked blushes are some of the best.

Highlighter: Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter

This is a blendable formula, very pigmented, and has you glowing for days. 

Eyeliner: NYX Matte Liquid Liner 

This is the best liquid liner, in my opinion. This is super matte and the tip is ultra-fine. Once she drys, she is not moving. 

NYX Epic Wear Liner Stick 

If you are a pencil gal, this pencil comes in 24 shades. I would say try some different colors in the spring and summer. It applies smoothly, it’s long-lasting and waterproof. If you want to create a look that soft and natural or something more dramatic, this is the pencil for you. 

Mascara: L’Oreal Voluminous Original Mascara Waterproof 

This mascara is my absolute favorite, it hasn’t failed me. It builds long, full lashes without clumping. It doesn’t smudge, flake, and lasts all day. 

Lip Liner: NYX Slim Lip Pencil 

All of these lip liners are great, it comes in 32 colors. You will find the perfect shade for you. Try a few and you won’t be disappointed. 

Lipstick: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks

Maybelline offers mattes, buffs, nudes, and creams. Maybelline offers the most shades and they last most of the day. Like most traditional lipsticks you will have to reapply throughout the day. 

Liquid Lipstick: Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick

This liquid lipstick is offered in 40 different shades and a coffee edition. This lipstick lasts all day, and are highly-pigmented. They are not too drying or uncomfortable. 

Lip Glosses: NYX Butter Gloss 

NYX is one of my favorite drugstore brands, they offer many great products. Their lip products are some of my favorite. These are pigmented, comfortable, and never sticky. 

My favorite nude lip combo: NYX Slim Lip Pencil: Nutmeg and NYX Butter Gloss: Madeline, if you want a shiny look add a clear gloss. 

Setting Spray: Makeup Revolution Sport Fix Extra Makeup Fixing Spray 

This is a matte setting spray when you set your face with this spray. That look is locked in for the day. If you are looking for a dewy setting spray I would recommend NYX Dewy Professional Makeup Setting Spray.  (You can purchase at Target and Ulta.)

Makeup Brushes: 14pcs Brush Set (Amazon)

If you want to save some money, amazon offers a number of brush sets that are great quality. This set offers a variety of brushes that you need to get started and they are under $20 and most days you can also find a coupon code for these brushes for an additional percentage off. 

Makeup Sponges: 4 Pack Beauty Sponges (Amazon)

There are thousands of sponges for you to choose from. They are all different, they offer different textures, sizes, and shapes. These are some of my favorites, they don’t soak up a lot of product and the different shapes work for the various makeup applications. 

This completes my list of spring drugstore makeup must-haves. Most of these products are holy grails in my collection.
