These last few years I haven’t been able to read as much as I would like. I told myself that this year, I would make time for the things that I enjoy, and reading is on the top of that list. I need to do the things the feed my soul and my spirit. My goal is to read 30 books for 2023. I plan to be strategic about how to make time for reading, because I am time poor. We are well into the second month of the New Year and I’ve read 2 books and starting my third.

Reading more is a personal goal of mine, and I want to be very intentional about meeting this goal in 2023. So many of my goals weren’t met last year and I am striving to do better. Here is how I plan for to meet this goal.

Reading Time

Now to ensure that I make time for reading in my day, I have scheduled it on my calendar. I get a reminder every day to take 30 mins to read. And if my day takes a turn and I have a few extra minutes to get some additional time for reading. I take full advantage of that time. Now because I am typically pressed for time with all my responsibilities. To make it a habit, I make sure that I read a minimum of 10 pages per day.

I read physical books and I listen to audio books. Audible is the app that I personal use, and it helps me get so much reading done. I typically listen to an audiobook during the day while I’m working, while I’m in the shower, doing my makeup or cooking dinner. Whenever I have the time but my hands are occupied. I like to listen to the books on 1.4 speed to get through the book faster.

My Reading List

I keep a list on multiple platforms for the books I want to read. My main list is on Pinterest. This helps me figure what book to read next. This year I am big into personal development and growing emotional, but I also love a good fiction book from time to time. One of my favorite series is Church Girls by Sheridan S. Davis. My list currently includes books about spiritual wellness, self-development, marriage, and successful women. For Professional development I want to learn more about being the best leader that I can be. I also want to learn more about branding and marketing.
