2020 Travel Essentials

We have been quarantined for months now and the majority of us have not been traveling as much as we would have typically.  But a lot of people are starting to venture back out into the skyways.  When you are traveling you want to be as organized as possible so that it not as stressful.  I also try to swap out a few of my liquids for other items since I am only taking a carry on. All of the items below I found on Amazon and I will let you know how I use them.  When I travel I prefer to travel with just carry-on luggage and tote I use as my personal item. 

1. Luggage - I was in need of a new carry on luggage, I let someone borrow my last carry on and it got destroyed.  This piece is so affordable and it’s so cute.  It got really good reviews and I will test it out on my upcoming trip and let you know how it holds up.

2. Packing Cubes - Packing cubes make packing for a trip so convenient.  You can fit so many pieces in your suitcase without taking up so much space.  If you currently don’t have packing cubes you should invest in some before your next trip. This set comes with shoe bags, laundry bag and a clear toiletry bag.

3. Toiletry Bags -  These toiletry bags are TSA compliant, you can use them to store your liquids as well as makeup and other items when traveling.  These are cute, affordable and come in a number of colors.  To make sure that I stand within the rules for liquids, I use bar soap, cocoa butter as my lotion, a face balm to remove my makeup and sheet masks for my face moisturizer. 

4. Duffel Bag - I love this duffel bag.  I use this as my personal item on flights. It has so much space, it has a trolley sleeve that slides right on to the handle of carryon luggage.  I store my toiletries at the top of this bag for convenience when going through security.  I also store all of my important items in this bag (keys, wallet, jewelry pouch, glasses, headphones, ipad, etc.). 

5. Jewelry Organizer - This case keeps your jewelry organized and orderly.  This is compact and allows you to keep all of your jewelry in one place without it being ruined or tangled.  It has designated areas for each of your pieces.  

6. Makeup Bag - If you are a makeup wearer, this is a must when you travel.  This case has customizable dividers, multiple pockets and is durable. This one is very affordable. 

7. Pill Case - I take quite a few supplements and vitamins.  I also like to have pain killers and Benadryl with me when traveling.  I like to be prepared for anything that could happen.  This one has room for all of my supplements and additional meds.  

8. Electronic Organizer - I am an individual with a number of devices and I like to keep all of my chargers organized and tangle-free. This case is compact, has slots for all of your chargers and other small electronics (battery pack, mouse, SD card, etc.).  

9. Chargers - I don’t like to take my main chargers when I travel, I have forgotten chargers in the past.  I will not let that happen again.  These are chargers I use when traveling and I keep them as spare chargers when needed. 

10. Headphones - I would highly suggest having a set of headphones when traveling.  I prefer my larger headphones instead of earbuds.  This is helpful if I am watching movies or listening to music or an audiobook when traveling. These have a 40 hour playtime in wireless mode.  They are foldable and take up less space in your bag.  

11. Ipad Case - I like to have extra protection on my iPad, especially when traveling.  This one come with a stand so that it can be used hands-free.  You can download movies, or shows to enjoy during the flight. 

12. Water bottle - You should drink water regularly, but especially when traveling.  I bring my own water bottle to remember to stay hydrated and I can refill this bottle instead of purchasing water at the airport.  

13. Mesh Pouches - I use these clear mesh pouches to store my kits.  When traveling I make sure to have my own first aid kit, a feminine products pouch and I will also have a COVID flight kit with me as well.  Below you can see what I keep in each kit. 

14. Travel Utensils - This is a recent purchase, COVID has made me even more cautious about everything.  So I don’t want to take any chances when traveling, for cleanliness purpose and my peace of mind I purchased travel utensils for dining when traveling.  This set comes in a cute travel case with your basic utensils including stainless steel straws. 

15. Sample Containers - I fill these jars with my favorite products, this size can hold a few days worth of skincare products.  Then you can toss these in your toiletry bag without taking up as much space as a travel size bottle. 

16. Perfume Atomizers - You can fill these with your favorite face mist, perfumes and disinfectants.  They are smaller than travel size bottles, but you can fill them with what you need.  

17. Facial Sheet Mask - I know that some of you are wondering why this is on the list.  Sheet masks come packaged in a serum.  This can be used as a moisturizer and they are in a gray area when it comes to travel.  They technically don’t count as a liquid and you don’t have to put them in your toiletry bag.  You can just toss them in your personal item bag and they shouldn’t be confiscated when they go through the x-ray.  So pack these in place of your moisturizer.  

18. Charger Battery Bank - When traveling I like to carry my own charger.  In the airport outlets are scarce.  So to make sure that my devices stay charged I keep a fully charged battery bank with me.  This one is very affordable and works amazingly.
